A lengthy period of neglect had resulted in much of the planting in this large garden giving up the ghost under a comprehensive onslaught of weeds. New planting plans were carefully constructed to create a continuous display with a juxtaposition of various heights and flower- and leaf-shape for the length of each bed. Borders are arranged by colour from white, through cool, to hot. The Mound was a new project which we planted with Mediterranean-style plants to surround the seating area with aromatic foliage, and other plants chosen to ensure a long flowering season and plenty of butterflies!
